The volcanic union of craft beer and Etna Carricante grapes
Randağ Iga Bianca craft beer is born from the encounter between the art of brewing and the heroic viticulture of Mount Etna. Produced by Turi Eccellenze dell'Etna, this Italian Grape Ale (IGA) incorporates the must and berries of Carricante grapes—the indigenous white variety synonymous with the volcanic territory—into its production process. The result is an unfiltered and unpasteurized specialty, bottle-fermented to preserve the integrity of its aromatic profile and the identity of its terroir of origin.
Organoleptic characteristics and territory
- 🌱 Visual and Chromatic Profile: It presents with a brilliant straw-yellow color enriched by greenish highlights that recall the young white wines of the volcano. The head is white, fine, and characterized by good persistence and texture.
- 🌋 The Volcanic Impression on the Nose: The nose is dominated by intense wine-like, fresh, and mineral notes typical of Carricante. Clear hints of citrus such as lemon and grapefruit emerge, along with nuances of white jasmine and orange blossoms, combined with touches of Mediterranean scrub and a characteristic volcanic mineral note.
- 🍽️ Sharp Palate Experience: Vibrant acidity and freshness inherited from the grapes stand out on the palate. The sip reveals notes of green apple and citrus, balanced by a firm mineral savoriness. The medium-light body leads to a dry, clean, and long-lasting finish.
- 🧑🍳 Superior Craftsmanship: Unlike commercial beers, Randağ Iga Bianca undergoes no pasteurization or filtration processes. The presence of indigenous grapes adds an acidic and mineral complexity impossible to replicate industrially, linking the product to the specific harvest year of the grape variety.

🍷 The Ambassador of Taste recommends:
To fully enhance the distinct acidity and wine-like component of this IGA with Carricante, serve it at a temperature of 8-10°C in a large white wine glass. I recommend pairing it with raw seafood, oysters, or a seafood risotto: its volcanic savoriness perfectly cleanses the palate, highlighting the natural sweetness of the fish.
